Visa Information in English
1. If you hold a valid Portuguese residence permit, you do not need a visa if you stay in Germany under 90 days. Please note that you are not allowed to work during this time.
2. If you hold a valid Portuguese residence permit and you intend to stay for more than 90 days in Germany, you have to apply for a Long-term visa.
Please keep in mind that most categories of long term visas cannot be issued without the approval of the responsible local Immigration Authority in Germany; the visa can therefore only be issued once the German Embassy has received this approval.
